That's why we launched Carter Chat back in 2024 — to give incredible storytellers a platform to take characters out of their minds and into the hearts of millions of people around the world.
But as we were building Carter Chat, external business people and business-y problems got in the way, and we were forced to take Carter Chat offline in January 2026.
Since then, we've been keeping a close eye on other AI character platforms, and honestly, we've been really underwhelmed.
To this day, no other dev team has built a platform for storytellers to share entire fictional worlds filled with characters. No other app has built a chat experience as fun and easy to use as Carter Chat. No other platform has cultivated a creator-base that blossoms a bestselling author.
So we're rebuilding Carter Chat — and launching early access today. This new platform will be the birthplace of the most meaningful and loved stories of the next decade.
